Personal:

Married to Elizabeth (she got me running in 2003). We have three boys, Lucas (12) , Sam (8) and Ollie (5).

Many years ago, I read that the AVERAGE male is capable of a 2:40 marathon.  I decided to test that theory.  I began running in 2003 with Top of Utah as my first marathon (4:24).  I need 3 more minutes.

Relay race in St. George.  I ran on a 2-man team with Craig Green.  There were only three 2-man teams, four solos and about forty 5-member teams.  Great weather and tough course (you run up Snow Canyon), but we were happy with finishing 3rd overall in the entire field.  This is much easier than the overnight relays.  We started at 8 AM and were driving home by 2 PM.

Lots of fun teams and typical well organized St. George event.  Several other Runagade members were racing and all did awesome.

Great job Mark!

How'd did you guys do the 2-man relay - did you have a driver? Or did you just alternate running and driving?

We did not have a driver, so it was challenging with the 2-man logistics and planning (there was one exchange where your runner's leg would end on the west side of I-15, but the other runner was located on the east side of I-15...fun)!

Nice work of that course. I remember when you guys passed. Your drive said hi as he drove by. I started at 6am so I wasnt running so late in the day. I really thought I was going to be all day running this thing.
