Personal:

Married to Elizabeth (she got me running in 2003). We have three boys, Lucas (12) , Sam (8) and Ollie (5).

Many years ago, I read that the AVERAGE male is capable of a 2:40 marathon.  I decided to test that theory.  I began running in 2003 with Top of Utah as my first marathon (4:24).  I need 3 more minutes.

Back to running again after my illness.  I was going to take it easy, but I was running the same course as the East High School CC team.  So, I had to stay a few steps ahead...lol.

I'm debating about a February marathon or just waiting until next Fall.  I'm undecided, but I had success with the 1-marathon-a-year strategy this year.

Also, I have a corporate team race the first of October in Holland.  I need to get my butt on the track and get ready for a 5K.  I feel a lot of pressure, since the owners coordinate a seminar with me participating in the team race!

I was planning on track work this morning, but could not get out of bed in time before school started (track is closed during school hours), so ran up to Hogle Zoo above Kennedy Drive.

I'm thinking of running the Lost Dutchman in Arizona on Feb. 12.  It looks like a fun and challenging small marathon.  The airfare for me and my family is a little high ($750 for three), so I'm thinking about asking the race directory for a comp entry since I should place in the top 5.  I feel uncomfortable asking, but I know you do not get anything unless you ask!  If I don't run this race, I may not run another marathon until October of 2010, since we are expecting another baby in early April.

Speed/Tempo work to try and lower my 5K time.  I ran 6 x 400 below 5K pace.  Track was busy again this morning at East High School.

So, the Lost Dutchman marathon comp'd my entry!  The race director actually sound excited to have me come run it.  Its weird, but now I feel some real pressure to have a good race.  I hope this new found "pressure" can motivate me through the winter training.  I traditionally have not had very good Spring marathons; however, this one is in February!

Group run up Emigration.  I drove the SAG, but still got some good miles in.
