Personal:

Married to Elizabeth (she got me running in 2003). We have three boys, Lucas (12) , Sam (8) and Ollie (5).

Many years ago, I read that the AVERAGE male is capable of a 2:40 marathon.  I decided to test that theory.  I began running in 2003 with Top of Utah as my first marathon (4:24).  I need 3 more minutes.

Had a chance for under 1:17, but not enough in the tank; however, I lowered my course PR by 1:35.  Started out with Sasha, but knew early on I was not going to run a 1:15 (Sasha and Steve got together and ran away from me down the canyon).  Below are my splits:

1-5:30, 2-5:45, 3-5:47, 4-5:52, 5-5:44, 6-5:43, 7-5:43, 8-5:58, 9-5:54, 10-5:55, 11-5:59, 12-6:15 13-5:56 +1:01 to the finish.

Great to see some fellow bloggers and friends along with having a good racing field.

I didn't get a chance to talk to you before the race but good to see you for a minute after. Good race!

Nice run Mark. 90+ second course PR is huge.
