Personal:

Married to Elizabeth (she got me running in 2003). We have three boys, Lucas (12) , Sam (8) and Ollie (5).

Many years ago, I read that the AVERAGE male is capable of a 2:40 marathon.  I decided to test that theory.  I began running in 2003 with Top of Utah as my first marathon (4:24).  I need 3 more minutes.

AM: 7.0 miles.  Sugar House park morning run.  It was cold, but nice to now see the sun during the run!

Saturday, I ducked underneath a tree for a quick running pit stop and hit a small branch below my left eye.  Today, it looks like I've been in a fight.  The tree got revenge for all the other greenery I have had to visit while running!

PM: 3.5 miles.  Chilly run to the gym for core work-out.  Today, I told my boss I was resigning and taking a new job, but it did not go over so well.  I have to work up at USU tomorrow, then I'm sure it will be a long evening meeting with executive team.

I did that about a month ago - hit my head directly against a pointy branch. I had a frankenstein face for a while afterwards. I was just thankful that I didn't take my eye out!

This is why I have a lot of respect for guys who play wide receiver - they can run at 100% speed, make a catch while getting hit by 2 guys, and stay inbounds...

...and then us runners can't even dodge a TREE while running easy!! :-)

lol. The dangers of being a runner!
