Married to Elizabeth (she got me running in 2003). We have three boys, Lucas (12) , Sam (8) and Ollie (5).

Many years ago, I read that the AVERAGE male is capable of a 2:40 marathon.  I decided to test that theory.  I began running in 2003 with Top of Utah as my first marathon (4:24).  I need 3 more minutes.

Half marathon race on rolling hills run as a training run.  The course was an out and back with 3 large hills (San Dieguto).  There were 8-10 of us that started out at 7:45-8:00 minute slow pace.  At about mile 4 we split into two groups and sped up to 7:05 pace.  At mile 9, I wanted to run a better half-pace, so I dropped it down to a 6:15 pace for the remainder of the race.  I felt really fresh coming in and enjoyed the free beer garden.  At all the water stops there was beer available.  You had to check your cup before drinking.

Later that afternoon I had my first surfing experience in San Diego.  It was a blast.  We surfed for about 2 1/2 hours.

Treadmill at 24-HR Fitness in Denver.  My arms felt a little weak during the 1/2 Marathon yesterday, so I did a few minutes of weights after the run.  As dumb as it sounds, I really want to be careful and not add any body mass.  Last Winter, I lifted weights 3 times a week and gained 15 pounds from it.  I'm down to 165 and would like to be at 160 before Boston.

Run in the neighborhood.  Nice to be back out on the streets.  I have to go to Calgary next week, so no outdoor running all week!
