Personal:

Married to Elizabeth (she got me running in 2003). We have three boys, Lucas (12) , Sam (8) and Ollie (5).

Many years ago, I read that the AVERAGE male is capable of a 2:40 marathon.  I decided to test that theory.  I began running in 2003 with Top of Utah as my first marathon (4:24).  I need 3 more minutes.

Run in heavy, wet snow today.  My back felt pretty good, so ventured out.  I received a sample CD from the "Teaching Company" and downloaded to my IPOD.  One lecture was on books that have made history (History of Rome) and the other was on Einstein's relativity and the quantum revolution (black holes).  It was a welcome change from music and steverunner.com.  I will probably check some out at the library for long runs.

Run around the Sugar House area today on the wet roads.  I've decided to put off the gym for another 5-10 days and hope my back fully recovers before starting again.

I'm working in Sacramento this week, so today I enjoyed a 55-degree run along the American River.  I drove to Ancil Hoffman Park and ran through the nature trails (opposite side of the river where the main trail is located).  This was a narrow dirt trail.  I saw 40-50 deer and 20-30 turkeys.  I'm not sure what you call a group of turkeys (gagel?), but the deer were a herd.  There were several very large bucks with 12+ points on their antlers.  I was a little afraid on a couple of close encounters.

All in all it was a slow run, but it is nice to be in the warm sun again swallowing trail bugs.
