Personal:

Married to Elizabeth (she got me running in 2003). We have three boys, Lucas (12) , Sam (8) and Ollie (5).

Many years ago, I read that the AVERAGE male is capable of a 2:40 marathon.  I decided to test that theory.  I began running in 2003 with Top of Utah as my first marathon (4:24).  I need 3 more minutes.

AM: 11 miles.  Tempo workout at Sugar House park this morning.  3 x 2 mile repeats with warm up and cool down.  Breezy conditions this morning, so it was hard getting out of bed this morning.  Garmin died during the first tempo.  I estimate it was about a 6:15 pace.  I'll take it for February.  Got home and began to sneeze my head off.  The walnut tree in our back yard is beginning to bud for Spring.  Allergy season has begun!

PM: 3.5.  Gym core work-out.  Very windy this evening.  They were putting sand on the road while I was running, so must be planning for a big storm or trying to use up some of that excess tax $ for snow removal!

AM: 7.05 miles.  Sugary House loop.  Very icy.  I tried to stay in the middle of the road, but it was tough with traffic this morning.  The sun peaked out the last mile and made it nice...but slippery.

PM: 3.5 miles.  Gym core work-out with a little change up this month.  More focus on the upper body.  Beat the snow!

AM: 15.5 miles.  Nice run this morning with some of the Fastrunning blog crew.  I ran from my house over to Sugar House park to meet up with the group.  Ran some good miles up Emigration canyon with Jake, Crocman Chad, Andrea and Emily then coasted down back to the house with Andrea.  Not much wind today, so good running conditions minus the occasional ice patch.

A lot of people out running today.  I saw Richard Carling (sorry, I called him Ken) close to the zoo, then ran into one of my first running partners, Bonnie, on Wasatch Drive!
